The Focal Point of Spiritual Power

What is the greatest need in our society? More money? More and better jobs? Safety and security? These are all important things but the greatest need in our society is the gospel. Our spiritual condition is our greatest need. As the popular song says, people need the Lord. And it is up to every believer to pray for and seek out opportunities to share the cross of Jesus with the un-churched around us. There is great power in the cross.

What do we find at the cross? Many things actually. Salvation, sanctification, unconditional love, and healing. Do people want these things in their lives? You bet. Don't you? How did you hear about the cross of Christ? I would guess that someone who loved you told you about Jesus didn't they? Who can we love enough to share Jesus with this holiday season?

I hope you and your's have a great Thanksgiving this year. We have been truly blessed by the Lord. What do you have planned for Thanksgiving? We (my family and another) will be doing a worship service at a local nursing home Thursday morning. Some of our members have baked/bought pumpkin pies for the Community Thanksgiving lunch and others will be volunteering there as well. Eat a lot, pray a lot, and give thanks to the Lord.
