It is good to be back in town after our family vacation. It was good to get together with family this past week. It was a very relaxing time and I had the opportunity to meet a lot of family I hadn't met before. One of the things that kept coming to mind for me this past week was the issue of heritage. As children we receive a heritage from our parents and then we hopefully pass this heritage on to our children. I believe that I am the result of my parent's family Christian heritage. They passed on to me a legacy of Christ. My wife is the product of this same heritage from her family. We in turn are working to instill in our children this same heritage. We know it is difficult but we will do our best to teach them all we can about the Lord. As Proverbs 22:6 NIV reminds us, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Leaving a godly heritage with our children is extremely important. May God give us the wisdom, determination, and the success in giving our children knowledge of Christ.
